Lithuania - How to get
there
Lithuania is situated in Eastern Europe bordering the Baltic Sea.
Borders to the North with Latvia, East to Russia, South to Belarus, West with
Poland.
Direct to Lithunaia
Ryanair fly Stansted, Dublin and Stockholm direct to Kaunas. The
Stansted to Kaunas flights are once per day.
Lithuania Airways fly from London, Dublin and Amsterdam to Vilnius.
Gatwick to Vilnius is once a day. Amsterdam to Vilnius is once
a day, twice a day at the weekend. Dublin to Vilnius is once a day.
Ferries run from Kiel and Sassnitz in Germany to Klaipeda on the west coast
of Lithuania once a day, and take 20 hours. Also available is Karlshamn in
Sweden once a day taking 15 Hours.
Via Poland
Ryanair fly Stansted and Frankfurt direct to Gdansk. Then train
through. Be carefull though as some trains go via Belarus - and you'll
need a Visa for Belarus.
Via Latvia
Ryanair fly Stansted, Dublin and Liverpool direct to Riga. 2 trains run
a day between Riga and Vilnius. One early in the morning, one late at
night. Busses appear more regular - bookable via Eurolines.
