Faroes - How to get
there
Faroes is situated half way between the Shetland Islands and Iceland.
As it's a relatively small islands there is limited travel to and from the
island. Atlantic Airways appear to have a monopoly on flights to the
Faroes. After extensive searching we have failed to find any other airline
flying to the Faroes. Mersk Airlines used to fly their but they stopped
the route in late 2005.
Faroes only airport is called Vágar and is located on
Vágoy Island. It's approximately 2
1/2 hours by bus and ferry to Torshaven - the capital city.
Last time Scotland played in the Faroes Atlantic Airways added extra flights
into the Faroes from Aberdeen.
